A cemetery had not been needed in the small community of Tabiona until Asael Trevor MICHIE died in 1910 at the age of three, probably of Typhoid Fever. His father and other men of the village selected a site on the hillside, about a mile south of the Michie homestead, and dug the first grave for Trevor.
